A Te Aro exclusive! We are proud to present our very own micro-lot direct from Chapadao de Ferro, the farmed "Plains of Iron" in the Cerrado Region of Brazil. Ruvaldo DeLarisse's farm (about 250 hectares - small for Brazil) boasts a mineral-rich soil with a relatively dry climate, which makes it ideal for processing the cherry the natural way - that is, fully drying the coffee with the entire cherry still attached, resulting in a sweet, smooth cup. This coffee is very versatile and can be brewed almost every way with very delicious results. Distinctly nutty on the nose, like beer nuts and caramel corn with a hint of coconut. Although the taste is more reminiscent of roasted peanuts, it has a wonderfully buttery body that, as it cools, slowly unfolds the sweetness in your mouth, like a butterscotch candy. The natural process achieves a milder acidity than most of our offerings and is an excellent choice for people who prefer rounder, less bright-tasting coffee.
