Black Cat Classic Espresso Easy Mate, Decaf Brazil Fazenda DeLarisse
This syrupy and sweet espresso blend has been the staple of our lineup since the very beginning. It is a product of intensive lot selection and close, direct work with the farmers who produce its components. The Black Cat Classic Espresso’s hallmark is its supreme balance and wonderful sweetness. A decaf to write home about! A complex blend of beans from Indonesia, Ethiopia, Honduras, Brazil and Guatemala. A chemical free Swiss Water Process leaches over 99% of caffeine from high-quality, specialty grade beans, ensuring that optimal flavour remains after the process is complete. Expect a nutty, slightly fruity aroma paired with generous body and acidity.

A Te Aro exclusive! We are proud to present our very own micro-lot direct from Chapadao de Ferro, the farmed "Plains of Iron" in the Cerrado Region of Brazil. Ruvaldo DeLarisse's farm (about 250 hectares - small for Brazil) boasts a mineral-rich soil with a relatively dry climate, which makes it ideal for processing the cherry the natural way - that is, fully drying the coffee with the entire cherry still attached, resulting in a sweet, smooth cup. This coffee is very versatile and can be brewed almost every way with very delicious results. Distinctly nutty on the nose, like beer nuts and caramel corn with a hint of coconut. Although the taste is more reminiscent of roasted peanuts, it has a wonderfully buttery body that, as it cools, slowly unfolds the sweetness in your mouth, like a butterscotch candy. The natural process achieves a milder acidity than most of our offerings and is an excellent choice for people who prefer rounder, less bright-tasting coffee.

This coffee comes from the Cordillera Central range of mountains north east of San Hose. Grown in a region surrounded by some of the largest volcanoes in Costa Rica as well as three great rivers. These coffees originated in Ethiopia and were cultivated early in the 19th century. With the presence of lush volcanic soil, the coffee grown at over 1300 meters has a full body with a rich aroma and gentle acidity with hints of light milk chocolate and subtle citrus tones. A special blend of South American and Indonesian coffees chosen for their unique characteristic traits. This special blend of coffee has a full rich taste with a strong aroma and is roasted to a level that maximizes the qualities of each bean used. The slightly darker look of the beans is due to the natural decaffeinating process the coffee undergoes before being roasted. The roast level is dark.
